Escaped from Castle Doom from Commander S'aaul....evidently now in command.....all our people are gone, Coran. We're trying to get off planet...we're underground in tunnels.....this is urgent, Coran...found out Zarkon's on his way to Princess Allura and Lotor...don't know how long he's been gone....better try contacting her....that's all we got right now.....will contact later. Let us know what happened Coran...good luck...Keith out.........transmission end..................
Coran connected the comm to the signal that Allura had given him to contact her on Aden. The screen functioned normally indicating the connection was good. No answer. Coran was frustrated. He would try again. Nothing! She would answer, he knew she would! Still nothing!
Coran was getting nervous. What if? He tried to keep his fears at bay. As he kept trying to reach her, he hoped someone would answer, even Lotor. The signal kept going, then suddenly, it went off-line, as if someone had switched it off. Coran tried again. No use. He feared the worst, right now, Zarkon could be there with Allura, and it was a sure thing they would not be playing cards!
Coran felt a heaviness in the pit of his stomach. He knew if Zarkon had Allura, then his troops would soon occupy Arus.
No, he thought. Allura would not want us to surrender! The shield of Alfor will give a chance to fight them!
Hopefully, the shield was still a secret from the many spies of Zarkon that Coran knew would be around the castle. He needed to make another sweep of them. Yes, they would fight for Arus! For if Arus fell, then the Alliance would surely crumble. He knew Princess Rommelle could not lead them - not as she once had, although Prince Bandor, soon to king of Pollux, offered his help.
He worried over Kate and Keith on Doom. He prayed that they would get out all right - alive. Stuffing his fears for all of them aside, Coran left the comm station and went to see how Pidge and Hunk were doing configuring the Alfor's Code sequence into the computer system. Not knowing exactly what was happening made it hard on Coran. He knew that they didn't have much time. He prayed that somehow, he would get a definite answer, or better yet, a miracle.
