"She went there again?" Lance rolled his eyes. "Why?"
"Maybe she just wants to keep track of Lotor's progress." Hunk volunteered.
"She could do that here, you know." Pidge said. He was on his personal computer himself, getting the latest stats on the pararoket races.
"Ahh..you know how the princess is. She has a soft heart for anyone - even Lotor." Lance frowned.
Keith walked into the room. "Well guys, we are getting our orders to ship out soon.."
"Tell us something we DON'T know Keith.." Lance idly leaned back in his chair.
"Lance.." Keith shot him a look. "Pidge, Hunk, I know that you two still have about two years left on your commission. Lance, your commission is up. You can either go back in or go civvie."
"What are you going to do?" Lance asked.
"I am going to stay in, Lance. I think that now that the threat of Zarkon and Lotor are gone, we can really make a difference in rebuilding."
"Well, Lotor - maybe. But Zarkon? I don't trust him." Pidge said. "Sheesh, he's on the net again? Next thing you know they'll have him hawking soda!"
"Who does?" Lance leaned forward again, his eyes on Keith. "Of course he doesn't have the money or resources anymore to do anything although it wouldn't suprise me if he had a bunch stashed away somewhere."
"Yeah, me too. Well I answered your question. How about you?"
"Me what?"
"What you going to do, Lance.." Keith ventured a smile.
"Oh, that. I dunno yet. I'm thinkin' about doing something adventureous."
"Like flying Voltron wasn't adventureous enough?" Hunk smirked. Lance always had to have his thrills.
"Hey, but you know they're breakin' up the party." Lance said. "I don't know about you guys, but I don't want to be riding a desk - especially if they oust Graham out. Geez, you know they've been mentionin' putting that Amalgamus machine on the ballot? Oh yeah he's got artificial intelligence and all that but a machine is a machine is a machine. Anyone could tamper with it."
"I take it you don't like him too much!" Pidge grinned.
"Hell, no! Putting one in charge of 900 planets. I hear that if Amalgamus does head up the Alliance, that the council will be "reorganized' ."
"Shake ups are inenvietable.." Keith shrugged. "But I hope Graham stays in. He was a strong leader during the war. We still need that now in peacetime."
"Exactly! Hawkins has been jumping up and down about the talk of dismantling Vehicle too. The only reason they won't touch Voltron is because Voltron belongs to the princess." Lance got up to get a cold drink.
Keith sighed. All this change. Change was about the only thing one COULD count on. He looked at his chron. Where in the hell was the princess? She should be back pretty soon.
Keith, quit acting like a mother hen. She's a grown woman and -
Well, you couldn't just shake off the habits of five years. He still worried about her, even in a safe hospital.
