Blind Faith:Eighteen
Waking Up: Planet Aden
"Allura..Allura?" a voice seemed to call from far away.
Hands felt her face gently and then she felt a pain as her forehead was touched. She could feel the stickiness of her blood.
She heard a curse and then her eyes fluttered open. She saw Lotor squinting down at her, trying to focus.his eyes on her.
"Lotor? What happened..crashed."
"Thank the gods you're all right, Allura.." she saw him frown.
"I've been - better." She sat up, gingerly touching her head. "Where are we?"
He shook his head frustratingly. "I still can't see! Everything is just - foggy."
Allura got up. "But you're the one who named the coordinates."
"And you're the one who told me to give you one and I did!"
"Since when did you EVER listen to anything *I* ever said?" Allura was getting annoyed.
"I ALWAYS listen to everything you say! Your voice is like an angel's.." Lotor's voice took on that tone of adoration.
"Oh please, spare me that! You constantly tried to carry me off even when I told you no! ESPECIALLY when I told you no!"
"I love women that play hard to get!" Lotor smirked.
Allura was fuming but she chose to ignore the comment.
"Just what WERE those coordinates - or did you make them up?" she asked.
"If I had made them up, we would have probably wound up in a rock!" Lotor exclaimed.
"Well?" Allura put her hands on her hips.
"I don't know, my tempermental princess. Something I remembered - oh when I was a child."
"Great! We could be anywhere!" Allura grimaced.
"From the sound of it, we're all alone.." Lotor mused.
And indeed Allura heard no sound - at least not the sound of pursuing ships anyway.
She sighed. "I better run a diagnostic on this ship." She went to sit down in the pilot's seat. Lotor had somehow made his way to her, for she felt his hands on her shoulders. He started to rub her shoulders.
"Ah.don't - ohh..do that.." Allura winced at the pressure of his hands.
"Why not? You're obviously tense."
"Why shouldn't I be?" Allura snapped.
"Because you're too beautiful to be tense. Maybe if the right man kissed you.."
"I DON'T think you're that man, Lotor. And you think sex is the answer to everything."
"Sex?" Lotor stopped rubbing her shoulders. "*I* never mentioned sex..but now that YOU'VE mentioned it, it sounds like a very good idea!" he grinned wickedly.
"I didn't SAVE you to be your victim again, Lotor!" Allura's eyes were dark as she doggedly ran the ship's diagnostics.
He stepped away from her and just stood there.
"Then why did you?"
Allura's head went up like a started doe.
"What?"
"Save me."
That was a good question - why DID she?
Milky Way Galaxy, Mars Colony, Galaxy Garrison Annex:
"Well, you finally surprised me, Keith. I never thought YOU'D go off and do this.." Lance grinned
"Hey, what can I say? Garrison can't order me tu do anything if I'm not in their game, now can they?"
"Still, I know how much your career means to you.."
"Not as much as Arus or protecting the princess." Keith grimaced.
"You got something for her don't you, buddy?" Lance leaned back in his chair and watched Keith pack.
"I do but I think we ALL do, Lance. You know? It's like we're all bound to her - bound to Arus - to Voltron."
"Yeah, tell me about it. The others coming too or was it just you that jumped ship?"
"They're coming too. Voltron IS Arus' and not Garrison's. They'll raise hell but that's too bad. I think they got to where they were thinking that Voltron WAS theirs.."
"That's true and with Amalgamus running the show.."
"With Zarkon behind him. I''m sorry. I can't see Zarkon as serving so quietly as a lackey."
"Neither can I, but everyone's bought it and they're buying into the Princess being a traitor."
"That's why I'm going back to Arus. Without Garrison looking over my shoulder, maybe I can - WE can do something."
Keith hefted up his duffel bag and looked at Lance.
"What about you? Going back to the circuit?"
"Hell no!" Lance smiled and got up. "I'm going with you!"
Keith grinned. "Knew you would. Let's haul.."
"Lead away, Cap!"
Zarkon was justifiably angry when he woke up. His head hurt like hell and the ceiling above was practically trying to cave in on him. It was Lotor who had clouted him over the head, he just knew it. Damn that whelp! Forever getting in the way of his plans. If he had succeeded, he would have broken that meddling princess. He just knew it. He had seen the hidden fear in her eyes and that gratified him greatly. Fear had been his drug - the fear of millions who had to live and die at his very whim. It was the most delicious high indeed. He missed that more than anything - that fear.
Even his own son had feared him. <
Fear was a powerful weapon and Zarkon knew how to use it well.
But he was a warrior whose weapon had been taken away and he was reduced to playing behind the scenes where once he had stalked boldly, wading in the blood of his enemies and taking what he wanted.
Damn Lotor to the seven hells!
Zarkon was taken up by the Victorious and they believed his story of retrieving his son. Zarkon surmised that the princess' ship had been tracked here which was why they had come in the first place. He had been angry that the princess had had the presence of mind to scramble her vector destination before the Victorious could pick up the whole thing. Damable ship couldn't follow her trail!
Vector 450..
That covered a lot of area, but it could be narrowed down by elimination, he supposed. Zarkon wondered, since Lotor had been able to attack him, perhaps he had been the one to give the vector reading. It have been one of the many places his son would have went to at one time or another.
He would find out and until then he would orchestrate the rumors that would sure to be escalating. The Princess could not hide with his son forever. If she stayed away, her planet would erupt in confusion. She cared too much for her people - she would not stay away. He would do his damage, hidden as he was.
And if they stayed away too long - he would find them.
