Lotor found her, the voice who had called him. She was in danger! He had sensed it. He ran into the castle, and heard the voice grow louder in his mind, as if she were screaming. He knew where to go. He ran up the stais and opened the double doors to a suite. There he saw two figures, a man and woman. The woman was struggling, and the man appeared to have her pinned. As the man moved his head, he saw her face, a mask of fear and terror. Their eyes locked and the pendant around his neck became warmer, as if it knew..it knew. It was she, the one he had been looking for.
She cried out, "D'aavid!!" His eyes narrowed. He would not let this fool take her!! He jerked the man off of her and he swiped at him with his lasersword, before he could do anything. The man went down with a groan and the Dark Prince hurriedly scooped Allura up and carried her out. Her arms wrapped his neck as if she knew who he was.
She murmured, "D'aavid, you saved me-just as you did in my dreams." He carried down the stairs, out of the Castle, and to his cruiser.
He placed her gently on his bed where many women had been before-some willing, some not and he just gazed at her. Their eyes were still upon each other as if they could not get enough of looking at each other.
Lotor finally spoke."..Allura?"
She nodded, smiling. He felt like an idiot. He should made the connection somehow, but it didn't matter - she was here and safe with him.
He reached outand touched her face. Unlike Coran's touch, his did not frighten her.
He said, "Who was that man-a marauder?" She shook her head sadly, "He-he was my court advisor Coran."
Lotor's eyes narrowed. " I hope I killed him."
He looked down and saw her weep. His arms went around her and he said, "What's wrong...did he?"
She shook her head, "No-no, it's just that everything...I just-god!"
Her arms went around his neck and she wept quietly. Lotor cursed himself for what he had done to her world. Destroyed it utterly, took her people away in chains.
She whispered, "D'aavid?" And then she looked up with a smile. "That is your name, isn't it?"
He smiled down at her and said, "Yes, it is..."
She said, "I have dreamed of you."
The Dark Prince said quietly, "And I of you...but I never could remember." She nodded and said, "same here.."
Her hand touched his face and he closed his eyes in happiness. She leaned against him and kissed him. He felt completness, as if she were a missing piece of him. As they kissed, their pendants touched briefly and both felt the energy of the crystals flare between them. They both gasped and separated. They both looked down and saw the pendants glowing.
Allura asked, "Do you think..?"
Lotor was thinking the same thing. They took their crystals off. With trembling hands, they placed their hands upon their crystals and brought them together. The two pieces fit perfectly, and the energy of the crystal flared again, glowing with an unearthly glow. They both looked in awe at the crystal and then Allura looked at the back.
"Look!" the princess cried out.
He saw their names-D'aavid..Allura...and the markings on the back - a royal seal.
She said with wonder, "The Royal Seal of Arus-my father!"
Lotor looked shocked. "Your father! I don't understand this!"
Suddenly the crystals flared with heat, causing them to drop the pieces on the floor. Then a light came from the crystal and a holo appeared.
Lotor gasped, "Mother!"
Allura saw her mother and father, younger than she remembered along with a beautiul woman. She gasped, "Father, Mother!" They smiled and they looked so young so hopeful! Lotor saw his mother's face, so young and happy. He had a vague memory of that time and those people. He vaguely remembered the bearded man playing with him. He called him Uncle- Uncle Alf.He smiled at the memory. He couldn't say his name then for he had been so small.
The figure spoke, his face glowing with joy.
King Alfor spoke, "My children, on this happy day, you have become joined together, bonded for life to each other as you were when but children." Allura gasped. Bonded?
Queen Meryll then spoke. "We have given our blessings to your union, daughter and son. May your lives be blessed with happiness."
Then Lotor's mother, more beautiful than he remembered her, stepped forward and said, "I welcome your union, my son and my daughter."
She smiled and then she frowned slightly. "My son, by now you know the cruelties of your father, and you must know that he is an evil man."
Lotor frowned. He knew. She continued. "D'aavid, my son, I give to you a wedding gift- my world of Aden."
Lotor was shocked. A world of his own? She said, "It has been hidden well, all these years-at least I hope so." she smiled. "On your 20th birthday, it is legally yours-and your bride's as well.." she smiled again. "The government there is as it was under my father's-it runs itself. My father was a kind and noble ruler-much like King Alfor here.They are waiting for you, my son. If you wish to defeat your father, the world I give you has the means-and they have Voltron..."
HUH?
Allura and Lotor looked at each other. Voltron? "But Voltron's - gone." Allura said. "It was taken, stolen by those mercenaries we hired to defend Arus! How - ?"
King Alfor spoke up. "We sensed that your journey to each other would be a difficult one. We did not know if we would be here to guide you. Shortly after you and your mother came here, D'aavid, I sent the schematics to Voltron to Aden. It was important that this be kept a secret from your father, for he would use Voltron as a weapon and not as an instrument of peace as was intended. By this time, the second Voltron has been built and is simply waiting to be activated by the key."
Key? What Key?
Queen Shah, Lotor's mother, smiled and said, "We placed the key along with the royal document sealing your marriage at the base of the Royal Tombs. The Volltron key will be the larger key.The pendants you wear,joined as one acts as a key also. Place the royal seal in the niche of the tomb and you will find all that we have given you."
Queen Meryll continued, "Inside there will be the key to the second Voltron, your marriage certificate, and the map to Aden."
King Alfor stepped forward and said, "I have always known from my youth, daughter,that Arus would be barren, the castle ruined."
Allura thought,...how in the world?
He continued. "Underneath the castle, we not only have the undergrond caves which you know of, but another castle." The image of King Alfor smiled. "Remember, daughter..always be prepared for anything!" He shook his head. "Ah well, this castle has advanced technology-well it did when we made this!" He chuckled again. "The key to activate this castle will be inside with the other items. When you are ready to bring the new castle up, go to the woods and press upon the seal of the key and the new shall replace the old."
The image of King Alfor frowned, "Remember, my children, that there will be those who will oppose your marriage, but you have the lifebond, a special bond between two hearts and two minds that cannot be broken."
Lotor's mother said, "My son, my little D'aavid.." Lotor smiled sadly.
She said, "I wish you and she great joy. Your union will be happier than mine has been.If you fight your father, I pray that you will win and be victorous. No matter what happens,remember that I have always loved you. Take care of your Lura.,goodbye, my son-my daughter."she smiled.
King Alfor said, "Farewell, my children..may you be blessed.Queen Meryll smiled and said, "May you two rule Arus and Aden well. We bless the joining of our two houses. Allura, my baby..goodbye.."
Then the image faded and the two pieces of the necklace separated. Allura and Lotor looked at each other and silently picked up their pieces, not realizing they had switched necklaces. They placed the necklaces over their heads and they looked at each other, amazed at what had just transpired.
